We are looking for an experienced Industrial Electrical Lead to join our growing team in the Souderton, PA area.
Position Summary
The Industrial Electrical Lead will lead electrical crews and support the successful completion of industrial electrical projects. This position requires strong hands-on industrial electrical experience, advanced conduit installation and bending skills, knowledge of hazardous-area installations, and the ability to read plans and drawings, troubleshoot electrical systems, and coordinate daily field activities.
The ideal candidate is a dependable, safety-minded electrician who can lead by example while maintaining productivity, quality, and professionalism on the jobsite.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise electricians and apprentices on industrial electrical projects.
- Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial electrical systems and equipment.
- Install and bend various types of conduit, including rigid, rigid stainless steel (RMC/SS RMC), EMT, IMC, and other raceway systems.
- Perform accurate field measurements, offsets, kicks, saddles, rolling offsets, and complex conduit bends.
- Install conduit and electrical systems in hazardous and classified areas in accordance with applicable codes, specifications, and project requirements.
- Install hazardous-location equipment, fittings, seals, junction boxes, disconnects, and related electrical components.
- Perform electrical installations including conduit, wire, cable, panels, disconnects, motor controls, and power distribution.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, one-lines, schematics, isometric drawings, and project specifications.
- Plan daily work activities and coordinate manpower, materials, tools, and equipment.
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications.
- Provide hands-on training and direction to apprentices and less-experienced electricians.
- Identify potential field issues and communicate them to the Project Manager or Superintendent.
- Perform electrical troubleshooting and assist with system startup and commissioning.
- Maintain quality control and ensure installations meet applicable electrical codes and company standards.
- Monitor jobsite safety and ensure proper use of PPE and safe work practices.
- Assist with material takeoffs, ordering, and maintaining appropriate inventory on the jobsite.
- Coordinate with other trades, customers, vendors, and project personnel as needed.
- Complete required documentation, time records, and project updates.
- Maintain a professional relationship with customers and represent Universal Electrical Service positively in the field.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial/industrial electrical experience preferred.
- Previous experience leading electrical crews or serving as a Lead Electrician, Foreman, or similar role.
- Strong industrial electrical installation and troubleshooting experience.
- Advanced conduit bending skills, including rigid and stainless-steel rigid conduit.
- Experience installing RMC, stainless steel rigid, EMT, IMC, and other raceway systems.
- Experience working in hazardous/classified areas and familiarity with hazardous-location installation requirements.
- Ability to properly install hazardous-location fittings, seals, boxes, and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, one-lines, schematics, isometric drawings, and project specifications.
- Experience with wire pulling, cable installation, terminations, panels, disconnects, transformers, motor controls, and power distribution.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), including requirements applicable to hazardous locations.
- Ability to accurately lay out and install complex conduit runs.
- Ability to work independently while effectively leading a team.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent experience.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Experience in manufacturing, pharmaceutical, chemical, food processing, or other industrial environments.
- Experience working around classified/hazardous electrical areas.
- Experience with stainless-steel rigid conduit installations.
- Previous Foreman or Superintendent experience.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
